Description Advanced Practice Provider - Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist Critical Access Hospital Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist Program Join a team of physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) providing for the 24/7 needs of a rural critical access hospital. This hybrid Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist program is an excellent opportunity for an APP who enjoys rural medicine, working independently, and a fast-paced work environment. This position requires a high level of autonomy and strong clinical skills. Position Highlights (6) 24-hr shifts per month Level V Trauma Center Average of 9 patients per day in Emergency Department and 4-6 inpatients. Independent practice with 24/7 AVEL eCare physician support for emergency department patients Internal medicine physician support available for APPs Onsite lodging provided
EMR:
Epic Good ancillary support from nursing, social services, pharmacist, laboratory, radiology, and rehabilitation staff. Participate in collaboration with other staff ED/Hospitalist providers in filling the required day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts required to meet the needs of the 24/7 facility. Hospital-employed position with full benefits package This role requires the ability to perform effectively in emergency and stressful situations. Strong clinical skills with experience in inpatient and emergency medicine is necessary. Must be able to work independently and think critically. Requires strong communication and leadership skills. Maturity and ability to establish good rapport with physicians, patients, and staff. Requirements Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Masters or Doctorate program. Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Hospital Medicine. Licensed or ability to obtain a license with the ND Board of Medical Examiners or ND Board of Nursing. ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required. DEA license with unrestricted state practice. 2+ years of emergency medicine and inpatient experience preferred Ability to work independently Will work with a team of providers to ensure staffing needs of the 24/7 facility are met, including weekends and holidays.
