This is a part-time, in-person opportunity with an especially flexible scheduling model. The provider may work 1 day per week or potentially consolidate availability into 1 week per month . The clinical work is focused on structured behavioral health disability evaluations rather than ongoing treatment. Providers review relevant medical records, interview Veterans, assess claimed mental health conditions and their functional impact, and document objective clinical findings. There is no ongoing therapy panel or longitudinal patient management.

Scope:
Evaluations rather than ongoing treatment The alternative monthly scheduling option may be particularly useful for a clinician who does not live in Omaha but can dedicate a concentrated block of availability each month. Responsibilities Review relevant medical and service treatment records before each evaluation Conduct structured behavioral health evaluations with Veterans Obtain a comprehensive history related to the claimed mental health condition Complete mental status examinations Assess symptoms and associated occupational and social impairment Complete applicable Disability Benefits Questionnaires Provide medical opinions when requested and supported by the available evidence Document clinical findings clearly and objectively Submit completed evaluations within established timelines Respond to clarification requests when additional clinical information is required Maintain professional and respectful interactions with Veterans These evaluations provide clinical evidence used as part of the disability claims process. The examiner documents findings and provides requested medical opinions; the disability determination itself is made by the appropriate government agency. Qualifications The specific professional and credentialing requirements will be reviewed with qualified candidates during screening. Behavioral health disability examination work typically requires a doctoral-level behavioral health provider whose professional scope aligns with the evaluations being performed. Prior experience with Veteran disability evaluations, Compensation & Pension examinations, independent medical evaluations, or structured behavioral health assessments may be helpful.
