Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician to provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries. This role involves rapid assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment in a fast-paced emergency care setting. The physician will work closely with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care. Schedule Approximately 10 shifts per month 12-hour shifts
Day:
7:00 AM-7:00
PM Night:
7:00 PM-7:00 AM Approximately 120 hours per month Responsibilities Evaluate and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies. Perform comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations. Order and interpret appropriate laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging. Diagnose and manage a broad range of emergency medical conditions. Provide emergency interventions, including airway management, trauma care, wound care, suturing, IV therapy, and resuscitation. Manage critically ill and injured patients and coordinate care with appropriate specialists. Collaborate with nursing staff, radiology, surgery, cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, and other members of the healthcare team. Participate in patient triage and help maintain efficient patient flow. Accurately document patient encounters and treatment plans in the electronic medical record. Provide patients and families with education regarding diagnoses, treatment, and follow-up care. Follow HIPAA, infection control, patient safety, and clinical practice standards. Participate in quality improvement activities, case reviews, and other departmental initiatives. Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school. Completion of an ABMS-recognized residency in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine . Board certification and maintenance of certification in the appropriate specialty. Active and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. jurisdiction. Curre nt BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLScertifications. Strong emergency medicine and inpatient clinical skills. Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions in a community hospital setting. Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Commitment to patient-centered and culturally responsive care. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center. Experience managing high-acuity and critically ill patients. Familiarity with CT, laboratory, and other diagnostic studies. Experience with quality improvement, case review, or clinical research. Knowledge of CPT coding and emergency medicine billing practices. Schedule & Hours Approximately 10 twelve-hour shifts per month, with day and night shift options. The schedule may include approximately 120 hours per month depending on the assigned shifts.
Pay:
$125.00 - $199.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 28.0 per week
