Job Description

Nashua, NH Greater Nashua Mental Health is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to provide high-quality psychiatric care within a community mental health setting. This role delivers direct psychiatric services, medication management, and clinical consultation while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary treatment teams to support patient recovery and continuity of care. Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients using evidence-based psychiatric practices.
  • Devote at least 60% of work time to billable clinical services, with documentation completed within 72 hours.
  • Develop, review, and update psychiatric treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychopharmacological treatment in accordance with standards of care and agency policies.
  • Provide consultation regarding hospitalization or higher levels of care when clinically appropriate.
  • Coordinate care with nursing, medical support staff, and community providers.
  • Participate in quality improvement, clinical oversight, and performance monitoring activities.
  • Attend medical staff meetings and receive supervision from the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned. Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree (MD or DO).
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry (ABPN).
  • Active New Hampshire medical license and DEA registration.
  • 1-2 years of psychiatric experience, preferably in a community mental health setting.
  • Experience with psychotropic medications and crisis intervention.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills, clinical judgment, and collaborative approach. Why Work for Us
