Newton Medical Center, part of Atlantic Health System, is seeking Per Diem Psychiatrists to support Behavioral Health Services We are seeking Psychiatrists who can provide per diem coverage for an annual minimum of six (6) weekend days and/or holidays, as scheduled by the Department of Psychiatry. The Physician will provides clinical and administrative direction for Psychiatric Services across Newton Medical Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide psychiatric coverage for the Crisis Intervention Services (CIS) and Emergency Department (ED) on weekends and holidays. Work collaboratively with the mental health professionals in the CIS/ED.
Provide psychiatric coverage for Psychiatric Inpatient Unit on weekends and holidays. Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team on Psychiatric Inpatients Unit comprised of nurses, social workers, therapists.
Provide psychiatric consultation for urgent medical-surgical inpatients on weekends and holidays.
Collaborate with and provide support as needed to Per Diem Psychiatric
APN. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides timely consultation to the staff in CIS and inpatient psychiatric unit.
Provides timely psychiatric evaluations, follow-up, and medication monitoring of patients in treatment in the Inpatient Unit and other hospital services. Consults with and supervises, as appropriate, the psychiatric unit team members to determine the course of patient treatment and recommendations for discharge.
Provides timely emergency psychiatric consultations to the medical and surgical floors of the Hospital.
Provides clinical supervision of the Clinical Nurse Specialist working in hospital programs.
Hourly Rate:
$170/hr
QUALIFICATIONS QUALIFICATIONS
Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry
Licensed or ability to be licensed in NJ
