Job Description

St. Joseph's Health is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Physician - Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist to join our growing team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care while actively contributing to the clinical, educational, administrative, and quality initiatives of the Department. This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment committed to clinical excellence, education, and continuous improvement. Administrative Perform consulting and administrative duties while attending meetings as necessary in connection with the Division. Provide ongoing communication with members of the medical staff as required. Contributes to planning, coordination and compliance with hospital policies and Departmental policies. Contribute to M/M (Mortality/Morbidity) sessions, Grand Rounds, subspecialty conferences, resident's repot, etc. Supervise and teach residents, medical students and nursing staff. Develop mechanisms to evaluate and improve patient satisfaction Ensure the Division meets applicable regulatory requirements (DNV, Federal/State Guidelines). Assist in the resolution of complaints, requests and inquiries from patients Other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department. Patient Care Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining and treating of patient to meet their medical needs. Educate patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families. Determine which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs. Determine level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments. Exercise final medical judgment in all issues of health care. Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients. Order studies, test and ancillary services. Document all services in patient medical record. Provide consultative and advisory services to clinicians as requested. Directs activities of medical and other personnel engaged in rendering medical or surgical treatment to patients. Provide on-call and/or clinic coverage as requested by the Department Chairperson
