ASAP following completion of required onboarding and clearances We are seeking an experienced Pathology Transcriber for an onsite opportunity with a hospital in Teaneck, NJ. This position supports Pathologists and a busy Pathology Department with medical transcription, proofreading, pathology documentation, consultation cases, and internal conferences. Candidates must have at least 1 year of pathology office or directly related pathology experience. General medical transcription experience without a pathology background will not meet the requirements for this position. Key Responsibilities Transcribe pre-operative and post-operative diagnoses. Transcribe and proofread approximately 50 pathology reports/cases per day . Proofread gross descriptions and modify documentation as needed for accuracy. Transcribe and scan reference laboratory reports into the pathology information system. Upload consultation and prognostic reports into hospital documentation systems. Process approximately 15-20 reference laboratory and consultation cases per day . Prepare case materials for consultation and reference laboratory testing. Assist Pathologists with case review and preparation for internal conferences. Support Tumor Board, Surgical Review Committee, consultation cases, and other internal conferences approximately 2-3 times per week . Provide administrative and documentation support to Pathologists. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential pathology documentation. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred. Minimum 1 year of pathology office or directly related pathology experience required . Strong knowledge of medical and pathology terminology . Experience with medical transcription, proofreading, and/or medical documentation processing . Experience supporting a Pathology Department, Pathologists, or comparable pathology workflow . Ability to type 45-50 WPM with strong transcription and proofreading accuracy. Microsoft Word proficiency. Experience working with healthcare documentation systems and/or pathology software. Ability to work accurately in a high-volume, detail-intensive healthcare environment. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities. Preferred Systems Experience PowerPath LIS WebHIS Previous experience with these systems is preferred but not required. Candidates must be comfortable learning new systems quickly. Position Requirements Candidates must be available to work 100% onsite in Teaneck, NJ, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM-5:00 PM . Candidates must be available to start ASAP following successful completion of all required onboarding and clearance requirements.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
