POSITION SUMMARY

The Activities Coordinator/CCLS provides services to children enrolled in the Medical Day Care as an integral member of the Medical Day Care Interdisciplinary Team. The Activities Coordinator/CCLS is responsible for the assessment of developmental activities related to gross motor, fine motor, cognitive and social skills. The Activities Coordinator/CCLS makes recommendations for developmentally appropriate activities and measurable goals in each developmental domain. The Activities Coordinator/CCLS participates in regularly scheduled Interdisciplinary Team Meetings (IDT).

Daily Responsibilities will include:

Conducts comprehensive, developmentally appropriate evaluations and ongoing assessments of children, documenting progress and modifying goals and interventions as needed. Develops and implements individualized treatment, therapeutic, developmental, and adaptive activities that support each child's physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and developmental needs. Provides family-centered care by maintaining effective communication with children, families, and the interdisciplinary team; provides education, resources, and support appropriate to the child's developmental level. Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and inclusive environment by recognizing age-specific safety needs, utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment, and following established health, safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards. Completes required documentation and participates in interdisciplinary conferences, quality improvement activities, staff development, and other program responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Therapeutic Recreation or other closely related field. 2. Certification as a Child Life Specialist (CCLS). 3. Experience working with children with disabilities or chronic illness. 4. Ability to supervise groups of infants, children, and adolescents with disabilities in a safe manner. 5. Pediatric experience in medical settings preferred 6. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 7. Ability to function as a team member. 8. Current CPR certification (BLS required)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching. Compensation:

$47,810.91 - $53,854.25 per year.
