Job Description

Main Function:
Provides clinical internal medicine services and associated administrative services to UR Medicine Thompson Health's Farmington Internal Medicine patients. Provides consistent, high quality care consistent with accepted national and/or community standards. Leads office staff in development and performance of efficient office practices. Liaisons with practice management and hospital administration on behalf of the practice. Liaisons with staff on behalf of practice management and hospital administration. Assures regulatory compliance by providers. Provides patient management and practice leadership that unifies UR Medicine Thompson Health practice goals with health system goals. Acts in the best interest of the patient. Assists the health system in meeting strategic goals.
Required Job Specific Competencies :
Recognized competence in outpatient clinical internal medicine practice. Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all office staff and providers. Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with hospital and health system medical leaders. Lead a patient centered practice. Knowledge of recognized best internal medicine patient care practices. Maintains current knowledge of and ability to institute programs necessary to comply with evolving regulatory requirements. Consistent excellence in physician-patient and physician-staff communications. Exhibits leadership skills and professional behavior consistently. Actively guards confidential and protected information. Willing to receive feedback from associates and patients/families. Demonstrates knowledge necessary to ensure care appropriate to the age of the patient. Generates legible, meaningful, comprehensive and timely (within 2 business days of the date of service) patient care records sufficient for all patient care, regulatory, billing and other uses of the medical record. Responsible for ensuring all professional licenses, registrations, liability insurance education and renewal requirements and applicable physician certifications are up to date and current as required for employment
Hours:
Day shift full time
Requirements & Qualifications :
Unrestricted NYS medical license with current registration required. DEA license required. Board-certified in Internal Medicine required. Board-eligibility within the first three years of graduation from an ACGME-approved Internal Medicine residency program acceptable. Able to gain appropriate FFTH Medical Staff privileges. Acceptable professional liability insurance experience such that physician is acceptable for malpractice insurance by FFTH's malpractice carrier without surcharge.
Education:
MD or DO degree required or MBBS or equivalent. Completion of ACGME-certified residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine required. Meets continuing education requirements of the American Board of Internal Medicine for maintenance of certification required.
Experience:
Three years post-graduate residency training in Internal Medicine - required .
Pay Range:
