Job Description
Northwell Health's Department of Behavioral Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Psychiatrist at Mather Hospital for an adult outpatient position. The ideal candidate should be committed to evidence-based care, energetic, innovative and enjoy a collaborative, team-based approach. Mather Hospital, a member of Northwell Health, is an accredited 248-bed, non-profit community teaching hospital. Mather is one of the few Long Island hospitals to offer inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services for both adolescents and adults. It is the only acute care hospital in Suffolk County with an adolescent psychiatric unit and an adolescent partial hospitalization program. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality clinical care, educating the current and future generations of health care professionals, promoting health education, and caring for the community regardless of the ability to pay. Inpatient Adult Psychiatric Services provides an acute care facility for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness for adult and geriatric individuals. Mather's Outpatient Psychiatric Physician Services provides thoughtful and expert psychiatric care tailored to your individual needs. The team consists exclusively of psychiatrists who offer both in-person and telehealth appointments, making access to care more convenient for its patients. The department specializes in comprehensive mental health services, including medication management, therapy, and can also administer long-acting injectable medications to those who need them. Common conditions treated include depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The department is additionally equipped to support women experiencing mental health challenges during pregnancy, the postpartum period and to those struggling with mental health challenges related to infertility or loss. Outpatient psychiatry services has a perinatal psychiatry service, geriatric psychiatry, along with all other general adult psychiatric needs.
