Job Description
You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients. Job Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon to manage a high-volume clinical caseload within a specialized medical-legal framework. The role involves evaluating and treating patients, performing surgeries, and generating detailed medical documentation in support of personal injury and Workers' Compensation claims. Key Responsibilities Manage a high-volume clinical caseload, evaluating and treating 30-40 patients per day on dedicated clinic days. Perform 15-20 surgeries on dedicated surgery days, focusing on general orthopedics. Evaluate and manage patients within a medical-legal framework, primarily dealing with Workers' Compensation and No-Fault personal injury cases. Generate meticulous medical documentation to support claims. Adhere to a regional rotating schedule, working at various clinic facilities within the Greater New York Metropolitan area. Qualifications Active and unrestricted New York State Medical License (MD/DO). Minimum of 2-3 years of post-residency/post-fellowship clinical experience. Proven surgical capability in general orthopedics, focusing on joint replacements/reconstructions. Experience or deep familiarity working within the medical-legal space, handling Personal Injury and No-Fault cases. Board Certified (BC) in Orthopedic Surgery is highly preferred. Active New York State Workers' Compensation Board Number is highly preferred. Benefits Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances).
