Full-Time | Day Shift Job Summary We are seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Dermatopathologist to join an academic pathology team in Valhalla, NY. The successful candidate will provide expert diagnostic interpretation of a broad spectrum of cutaneous diseases, including inflammatory, infectious, neoplastic, and melanocytic disorders. This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment alongside pathologists, dermatologists, oncologists, surgeons, and other specialists. The Dermatopathologist will play an integral role in providing accurate and timely diagnoses, supporting complex patient care, and contributing to the educational and academic mission of the department. Responsibilities

Provide expert microscopic interpretation and diagnosis of skin biopsies and dermatologic surgical specimens.

Evaluate a broad range of dermatopathology cases, including inflammatory dermatoses, melanocytic lesions, cutaneous malignancies, soft tissue lesions, infectious processes, and other complex skin disorders.

Diagnose benign and malignant cutaneous neoplasms, including melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.

Utilize immunohistochemistry, special stains, molecular testing, and other ancillary studies when appropriate to establish or refine diagnoses.

Review challenging or complex dermatopathology cases and provide consultation to clinical colleagues.

Correlate histopathologic findings with clinical information to support accurate diagnosis and patient management.

Collaborate closely with dermatology, oncology, surgery, pathology, and other multidisciplinary teams.

Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and tumor boards as appropriate.

Provide timely, accurate, and comprehensive pathology reports.

Participate in departmental quality assurance, quality improvement, and laboratory compliance initiatives.

Teach and mentor pathology residents, fellows, medical students, and other trainees.

Participate in departmental conferences, case reviews, and educational activities.

Contribute to scholarly activities, clinical research, publications, or presentations based on professional interests and departmental needs.

Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and institutional standards.

Qualifications / Requirements

MD or DO degree, or equivalent medical degree.

Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) residency.

Completion of an accredited Dermatopathology Fellowship.

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic Pathology or AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology.

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Dermatopathology.

Eligible for or currently holds an unrestricted New York State medical license.

Strong diagnostic skills across a broad spectrum of dermatopathology.

Experience with immunohistochemistry and ancillary diagnostic techniques.

Excellent communication, consultation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Commitment to high-quality patient care, education, and continuous quality improvement.

Academic teaching and/or scholarly experience preferred.
