Full-Time or Part-Time Position Summary The Pediatrician provides comprehensive primary medical care to infants, children, and adolescents at Compassion Health Toledo. As a core member of the Care Team, the physician collaborates with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, care coordinators, behavioral health staff, and other team members to deliver patientcentered, high-quality healthcare. This position emphasizes prevention, growth and development, family education, and continuity of care, aligning with Compassion Health Toledo's mission and values. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Obtain pediatric health histories and perform age-appropriate physical examinations to develop accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. Provide preventive and acute care for infants, children, and adolescents, including well-child visits, routine screenings, and immunization review. Monitor growth, development, and behavioral health concerns and make appropriate referrals for specialty or supportive services. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and refer patients to specialists as appropriate. Counsel patients, parents, and guardians regarding nutrition, safety, development, prevention, and chronic disease management. Recognize and respond appropriately to concerns involving abuse, neglect, developmental delay, or other conditions requiring intervention. Follow Compassion Health Toledo's clinical practice guidelines and maintain adherence to evidence-based pediatric care standards. Collaborate with clinical and care coordination staff to support referrals, testing, treatment plans, and barriers to care. Provide follow-up care and education to patients and families on physical, emotional, behavioral, and preventive health needs. Participate in Care Team quality improvement and peer review initiatives. Supervise and support nurse practitioners and physician assistants as required. Participate in staff and provider meetings, continuing medical education, and professional development. Maintain complete and timely documentation of all patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR). Maintain professional credentials, immunizations, and continuing education requirements in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Adhere to all policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational compliance. Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Director. Qualifications Doctorate of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution. Completion of an accredited residency program in Pediatrics. Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatrics required. Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio. Current CPR/BLS certification. Strong pediatric diagnostic and clinical skills with a commitment to patient- and family-centered care. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
