Atoka, Oklahoma Schedule:
Generally Monday-Friday Position Type:
Contract or employed provider Atoka County Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide inpatient care for Acute Care, Observation, and Swing Bed patients in our Critical Access Hospital. The provider works with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, timely, patient-centered care. Responsibilities Perform daily rounds, patient assessments, and medical management. Order and review diagnostic tests, medications, and treatments within approved clinical privileges. Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharge planning, and follow-up care. Complete timely documentation and medication reconciliation. Respond to changes in patient condition and consult physicians or arrange escalation of care when appropriate. Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, quality improvement, and patient safety activities. Required Qualifications Current unrestricted Oklahoma APRN or PA license and appropriate national certification. Prescriptive authority and DEA registration when required for assigned duties. Current BLS certification; ACLS certification or ability to obtain within the hospital's established timeframe. Education, training, and clinical competence appropriate for inpatient practice. Successful completion of hospital credentialing and privileging. Current unrestricted Oklahoma APRN or PA license and appropriate national certification. Education, training, and clinical competence appropriate for inpatient practice. Successful completion of hospital credentialing and privileging. Preferred Qualifications Hospitalist, inpatient, emergency, rural health, or Critical Access Hospital experience. Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and experience with discharge planning are preferred.
