We're looking for clinicians who want more than simply accumulating hours toward licensure. This is an opportunity to build a caseload, receive consistent supervision and clinical support, and gain meaningful private-practice experience while developing your skills as a therapist. We take care of much of the administrative side of practice—including billing, insurance, scheduling support, marketing, and practice systems —so you can focus on your clients and your growth as a clinician. We also use AI-assisted note-taking for all sessions , significantly reducing the amount of time you spend on documentation. Position Overview As an Associate Therapist with iPsychological, you will: Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and/or families Build and maintain a consistent caseload Provide services in person and through HIPAA-secure telehealth Use SimplePractice for scheduling, documentation, and client management Use AI-assisted note-taking for every session and review/finalize documentation Maintain current treatment plans and clinical records Participate in regular clinical supervision Consult with supervisors regarding complex cases, treatment planning, and safety concerns Maintain timely and professional communication with clients and the practice Why This Position Stands Out Associate positions can look very different from practice to practice. We want you to know what you can expect when you join our team. Will I get hours toward licensure? Yes. Supervision is provided, and qualifying clinical experience is structured in accordance with California BBS requirements . Will I have to find all of my own clients? No. We actively market the practice, work with multiple insurance plans, and handle incoming patient inquiries to help you build and maintain your caseload . Do I need to start with a full caseload? No. We understand that building the right caseload takes time. You can start with a smaller caseload and grow gradually as referrals come in. We are looking for someone who ultimately wants to build to at least 20 hours per week and become a consistent part of our practice. Will documentation take over my evenings? No. AI-assisted note-taking is used for all sessions , significantly reducing the time spent on documentation. You review and finalize your notes, allowing you to spend less time writing and more time focused on your clients. Will I be stuck doing a lot of administrative work? No. Our administrative team handles insurance billing, claims, scheduling support, and practice operations , reducing the administrative burden on our clinicians. Will I have support with difficult cases? Yes. You'll receive regular supervision and have access to clinical consultation and support when challenging cases or questions arise. Can I learn how to open my own private practice someday? Yes— if that's one of your goals, we're happy to help you learn. As part of a small private practice, you can receive mentorship on the business side of running a practice, including credentialing, insurance billing, practice management systems, scheduling, marketing, client acquisition, and the day-to-day operations of building and managing a caseload. There is no expectation that private-practice ownership needs to be your goal. This mentorship is simply available to associates who are interested. Qualifications Current California AMFT, APCC, or ASW registration Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or another qualifying field Minimum 500 supervised clinical hours completed Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills Comfortable providing both in-person and telehealth services Comfortable using electronic health records and technology Reliable and able to maintain a consistent weekly schedule Willing to start with a smaller caseload and steadily grow to at least 20 hours per week Interested in developing a consistent, longer-term caseload with the practice Ability to work collaboratively within a small private-practice team Schedule & Availability Afternoon and evening availability is required.
