Job Description
Job description: North Shore Relationship Center is a growing, collaborative group practice dedicated to providing high-quality, relationship-focused mental health care. We specialize in individual, couples, and family therapy and value an integrative, compassionate approach to treatment. Position Summary We are seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide structured clinical supervision and guidance to psychiatric providers (NPs/PAs) treating adolescent and older pediatric patients in an outpatient setting. This is a part-time supervisory role focused on supporting safe, high-quality care through case review, clinical consultation, and program development. The position is designed with clearly defined supervision expectations, scheduled consultation time, and established clinical protocols to support both patient safety and appropriate clinical governance. Hybrid/remote flexibility is available. The role is initially expected to involve approximately 1-2 hours per week of structured supervision, with opportunity for additional clinical, supervisory, and leadership hours over time as services expand. Key Responsibilities Provide regular supervision and case consultation to assigned NP/PA providers Review complex pediatric psychiatric cases, including diagnostic clarification and medication guidance Support management of higher-risk clinical situations within established protocols and escalation pathways Contribute to development of pediatric clinical protocols and care pathways Participate in targeted quality assurance and documentation review Collaborate with leadership regarding clinical standards and program development Help support thoughtful growth of pediatric behavioral health services Role Structure Defined supervision model and provider ratios Scheduled consultation hours with mutually agreed-upon expectations No open-ended or undefined on-call responsibilities Dedicated compensated time for supervision, meetings, and QA activities Clear delineation of clinical responsibility and malpractice coverage Initial focus on adolescent and older pediatric populations Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited institution Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship strongly preferred and required for supervision of younger pediatric populations Active New York State medical license required Experience supervising or collaborating with NP/PA providers preferred Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and collaborative approach to care Compensation & Schedule Part-time Compensation aligned with scope of responsibility and time commitment Opportunity for expanded involvement as pediatric services continue to grow
