This is a flexible opportunity for a physician who values collaborative care, strong clinical judgment, and a long-term professional relationship with a growing practice. Pure Essence already has an experienced clinical team, an established patient base, administrative and billing support, and functional medicine resources in place. The Supervising Physician will provide clinical supervision in accordance with Connecticut requirements and collaborate closely with our physician assistants to support safe, high-quality patient care. The role can be structured around the physician's availability and desired level of involvement. Physicians who are interested may also have opportunities to see patients directly, provide telehealth services, and become more involved as the practice expands. Functional medicine education, training, and mentorship from Dr. Tano will be available as a resource to support the clinical team. The incoming physician will maintain their own independent clinical judgment and professional responsibilities. We are not simply looking to fill a position. We are looking for the right physician to develop a trusted, long-term relationship with Pure Essence and grow with the practice. Duties Provide clinical supervision for physician assistants in accordance with Connecticut requirements and the practice's written delegation structure. Collaborate with the PA team regarding patient care, treatment planning, clinical questions, and appropriate follow-up. Review patient charts and clinical documentation as required and support high standards of accuracy, safety, and continuity of care. Provide prescribing oversight and clinical guidance within the physician's scope of practice and applicable regulatory requirements. Participate in the development and review of clinical protocols, policies, and workflows as appropriate. Support appropriate coordination between functional medicine, preventive care, aesthetics, and other services offered by the practice. Collaborate with the practice's experienced administrative and billing team as Pure Essence expands insurance participation where appropriate. Maintain timely communication and availability for clinical consultation with the PA team. Help support a culture of accountability, collaboration, patient safety, and continuous clinical improvement. Participate in functional medicine education and training opportunities available to the clinical team. Maintain independent clinical judgment while working collaboratively with the practice's physicians, PAs, and other healthcare professionals. Provide direct patient care, in-person visits, or telehealth services if mutually desired. Support the practice's future growth, including additional providers, expanded services, and potential satellite locations. Skills Active Connecticut MD or DO license in good standing. Strong clinical judgment and commitment to safe, ethical, patient-centered care. Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, osteopathic medicine, preventive medicine, lifestyle medicine, integrative medicine, functional medicine, women's health, metabolic health, or a related field is preferred. Prior functional medicine experience is welcome but not required. Interest in functional, integrative, preventive, or whole-person approaches to care is highly desirable. Ability to supervise and collaborate effectively with physician assistants and other members of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Strong communication skills and responsiveness in clinical decision-making and team collaboration. Comfortable reviewing clinical documentation, treatment plans, laboratory findings, and diagnostic information as appropriate. Understanding of prescribing responsibilities, patient safety standards, documentation, and regulatory compliance. Ability to work collaboratively with billing and administrative teams while maintaining appropriate clinical independence. Comfortable using electronic medical record systems and healthcare technology. Professional, dependable, accountable, and committed to building a long-term relationship with the practice. Open to continued education, clinical mentorship, and professional development. Entrepreneurial or growth-oriented mindset is a plus.
