Emergency Medicine About This Opportunity We are seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment with an established Emergency Medicine team in Kingsport, Tennessee. Locum tenens physicians work on a temporary, contract basis to help provide coverage for a healthcare facility's staffing needs. This opportunity offers flexibility while allowing you to practice in a high-acuity setting alongside a collaborative team of physicians and advanced practice providers. The selected physician will provide comprehensive emergency care, supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, and maintain all credentialing and privileging requirements. Facility Highlights Full-service acute-care hospital 24/7 Emergency Department Advanced Heart & Vascular programs Comprehensive Cancer services Orthopedics and Joint Replacement programs Advanced Primary Stroke Center Trauma services Robotic-assisted and minimally invasive surgery ICU, rehabilitation, pulmonology, urology, and wound care services Position Responsibilities Provide emergency medical care to patients of all ages Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers Serve as supervising physician for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants Maintain compliance with credentialing, privileging, and regulatory requirements Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives Minimum Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) program Completion of an accredited residency program (minimum three years) ECFMG certification required for international medical graduates Clinical Experience New graduates are encouraged to apply Emergency Medicine residency graduates within the past 12 months are welcome to apply Licensure Active, unrestricted Tennessee Medical License Active DEA registration with Tennessee address DEA schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 Board Certification Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible through one of the following: American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Required Certifications
ACLS ATLS PALS
(required for providers not Board Certified in Emergency Medicine) NRP (required for non-ABEM providers) CME Requirement Preeclampsia-Eclampsia CME required upon initial appointment and every two years thereafter Malpractice Requirements $1,000,000 per claim / $3,000,000 aggregate Separate limits per provider Why Consider This Locum Opportunity?
