Responsibilities may include:

Evaluate patients with gastrointestinal and digestive symptoms Diagnose and manage conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and related digestive systems Develop appropriate treatment and follow-up plans Perform gastroenterology consultations and clinical evaluations Perform appropriate GI procedures within the physician's training, credentials, and privileges Review diagnostic testing, laboratory results, imaging, and pathology findings Coordinate patient care with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals Educate patients regarding their diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, and follow-up care Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation Follow applicable clinical, regulatory, and patient-safety standards Qualifications Candidates should meet the following requirements: MD or DO degree Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology Active Texas medical license or ability to obtain a Texas medical license before employment Eligible for credentialing and appropriate clinical privileges Strong clinical judgment and patient-care skills Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, and referring providers
