•5 p.m. Summary The Research Coordinator III will independently coordinate multiple complex pediatric and longitudinal research studies within Dr. Calarge's research program, including a NIH-funded study, being monitored by the NIH given delays in recruitment. This position will lead study operations, recruitment and retention, regulatory coordination, complex research visits, data-quality monitoring, and operational reporting. The RCIII will also provide functional guidance and training to research coordinators and students to support consistent study procedures, regulatory compliance, and achievement of research milestones. Job Duties Study Operations and Coordination 25% Independently coordinates day-to-day operations across complex pediatric and longitudinal research studies. Develops and maintains study workflows, prioritizes activities, monitors milestones and deliverables, resolves operational issues, and escalates significant risks to investigators and study leadership. Participant Recruitment and Retention 25% Leads recruitment and retention activities for sensitive pediatric populations, including a large NIH-monitored study with high-volume enrollment and longitudinal follow-up requirements. Reviews potential participants for eligibility, communicates with children and caregivers in English and Spanish, evaluates enrollment performance, and adjusts outreach and recruitment strategies to meet study goals. Functional Leadership and Staff Training 15% Provides functional oversight, onboarding, training, work guidance, and corrective feedback to research coordinators and student coordinators. Standardizes study procedures, evaluates staff readiness, monitors adherence to established workflows, and escalates performance or compliance concerns to the appropriate manager or investigator. This position provides operational leadership but does not have formal direct reports. Regulatory and Protocol Compliance 15% Coordinates regulatory activities and protocol implementation across assigned studies. Prepares and maintains IRB submissions, consent documents, amendments, and other required study materials; communicates approved changes to research staff; and monitors protocol adherence, deviations, and compliance risks. Complex Research Visits and Procedures 10% Coordinates and conducts complex, protocol-specific research visits and longitudinal follow-up activities involving clinical interviews, neuropsychological assessments, MRI procedures, hand and wrist radiographs, biospecimen collection and processing, and study-related EPIC orders. Ensures required procedures are completed accurately, safely, and within protocol timelines. Data Quality, Tracking, and Study Reporting 10% Oversees participant tracking, research documentation, data quality, and operational reporting across assigned studies. Conducts quality-control reviews, identifies and resolves discrepancies, monitors enrollment and follow-up trends, and communicates data-quality, compliance, and timeline risks to investigators and study leadership. Performs other job duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement. Two years of relevant experience.
