Qualifications:
Degree:
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
Education:
Graduation from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA), graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or graduation from a medical school with evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification
Equivalency Determination Request:
may request equivalency determination to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination. Certifications Have and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Red Cross.
Board Certification:
The DoD only recognizes certifications issued by boards that are members of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the
AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists Licensure:
Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license in a State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
Experience:
must include at least 32 hours of patient treatment within the specialty in the last 24 months.
Core Duties:
Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF. Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities. Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges. Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physical, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling. Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral wit appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated. Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Provide internal medicine care for adult patients, ages eighteen (18) and older, with acute and chronic patient conditions. Serve as a primary care manager for an empanelment to not exceed 825 requiring a minimum of 50 bookable face-to-face and 15 telemedicine appointments per week or, in the absence of telemedicine, 63 bookable face-to-face appointments per week.
