The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) John Sealy School of Medicine seeks a full-time Pediatric Nephrology Clinician Educator to join its Department of Pediatrics in Galveston, Texas. This is an outstanding opportunity to advance your academic career while helping shape the continued growth of pediatric kidney care within a nationally recognized academic health system. Join a collaborative pediatric nephrology team with opportunities to provide meaningful inpatient and outpatient care, educate the next generation of physicians, and collaborate with UTMB's established adult nephrology research and clinical enterprise. The position is available at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, providing flexibility based on experience and academic accomplishments. Opportunity Highlights Help shape a growing pediatric nephrology program as UTMB expands its broader kidney care enterprise and builds upon established clinical and research capabilities. Join a collaborative pediatric nephrology team that includes Shivaiah Balachandra, MD, Associate Professor and Division Director; Gina Nieto Duarte, MD, Associate Professor; and an advanced practice provider. Provide comprehensive pediatric nephrology care across inpatient and outpatient settings at UTMB clinical locations. Teach and mentor medical students and pediatric residents while advancing your own career in academic medicine. Pursue opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration, clinical research, quality improvement, scholarship, and scientific discovery. Receive a competitive salary aligned with Association of American Medical Colleges median compensation data, along with an achievable relative value unit (RVU) bonus program. Receive a potential one-time merit/sign-on bonus Benefit from relocation assistance, $5,000 in continuing medical education support, paid time off, health, dental, and vision coverage, and an excellent retirement program. Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligibility may provide additional long-term financial value for qualifying physicians. UTMB will consider alternative pathway candidates and supports visa candidates, expanding opportunities for qualified pediatric nephrologists. Candidates must hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, have completed pediatric residency and pediatric nephrology fellowship training, be board certified or board eligible in pediatric nephrology, and be eligible for an unrestricted Texas medical license.
