Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Urgent Care Waco, TX Full-Time Three 12-hour shifts per week Why NextCare?

$60 $80/hour + bonus True work-life balance: no call and no after-hours charting Flexible scheduling with monthly schedules released in advance Full-time providers are off more days than they work Supportive clinical environment with accessible medical leadership Position Overview NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Waco, TX. This role is ideal for clinicians who value autonomy, enjoy a fast-paced environment, and want to make a meaningful impact while being supported by experienced teams and clear clinical guidelines. You will care for a broad patient population with generally low-to-moderate acuity, allowing you to maintain a wide clinical skillset without inpatient responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits Perform procedures including suturing, I&Ds, splinting, and wound care Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging Provide clear patient education and discharge instructions Document care accurately and efficiently in the EHR Maintain productivity aligned with urgent care benchmarks Required Qualifications Active, unrestricted Texas license (NP or PA) Board certification (ANCC/AANP or NCCPA) Active DEA license (or ability to obtain) Active BLS certification Ability to treat patients of all ages EHR proficiency Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (fees covered) Preferred Qualifications Urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience Strong procedural skills (suturing, splinting, wound care) Experience with initial X-ray interpretation Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) Malpractice coverage CME/licensure reimbursement PTO and sick time About NextCare NextCare is one of the nation s largest urgent care providers, with over 160 locations across 11 states.
