Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Obstetrician/Gynecologist (OB/GYN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive women's health services, including obstetric and gynecologic care, to promote optimal health outcomes for patients across all stages of life. Your expertise will ensure safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient-centered care, utilizing advanced medical technologies and electronic health record (EHR) systems to streamline workflows and enhance patient experiences. Duties Conduct thorough medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic assessments for high risk pregnant women of color. Manage pregnancy care from prenatal visits through labor and delivery, ensuring maternal and fetal well-being. Perform gynecologic procedures such as suturing, Pap smears, colposcopies, and minimally invasive surgeries. Utilize medical imaging techniques like ultrasound to diagnose and monitor conditions related to reproductive health. Collaborate with specialists in maternal-fetal medicine, endocrinology, cardiology, radiology, and other disciplines for comprehensive patient management. Provide family planning counseling, reproductive endocrinology services, and menopause management. Administer treatments including botulinum toxin therapy, hormone therapies, and acute pain management strategies. Maintain accurate documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or similar platforms while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to advance women's health practices. Educate patients on health coaching topics like nutrition, lifestyle modifications, and preventive screenings such as mammography and immunizations. Ensure safe perioperative care during surgeries or procedures requiring anesthesia or sedation in an inpatient or outpatient setting. Manage emergency situations including airway management, triage for Level I trauma cases, and critical care interventions when necessary. Qualifications Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Valid medical license to practice in the designated jurisdiction. Extensive experience with inpatient and outpatient OB/GYN services; hospital experience preferred. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or equivalent healthcare IT platforms. Knowledge of medical imaging modalities including ultrasound (CT scans optional). Familiarity with specialized fields such as maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, neonatology, and pediatric critical & intensive care is highly desirable. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology knowledge, CPT coding for procedures, ICD coding for diagnoses, and discharge planning processes. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations. Ability to perform clinical procedures such as suturing, catheterization, wound care, and basic life support (BLS). Critical care experience including airway management and acute pain management is advantageous.
