•U.S. Got People (USGP) is currently seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to provide full-time care at the Gastroenterology Clinic in Langley AFB, Virginia . Join a mission-driven team delivering healthcare services to active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their families in a unique federal facility setting.

Qualifications:

Degree/Education :
Physician Assistant:

Shall have graduated from an accredited physician-assistant program and maintain currentNational Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants certification.

Nurse Practitioner:

Shall have graduated from an accredited graduate nursing program and maintain current National Certification appropriate for adult outpatient practice, such as Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

• Certifications in addition to

Basic Life Support:

Maintain current BLS and all clinic privileges required by DHA and USAF Hospital Langley.

•

Experience:

24 months of full-time clinical experience as a PA or NP in adult outpatient gastroenterology and/or hepatology within the preceding 48 months.

•

Board Certification:
Physician Assistant:

Have a current, and maintain, National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants certification. Have a current, and maintain, National certification appropriate for adult outpatient practice, such as Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioners.

Licensure/Registration:

Shall possess a current, full, active and unrestricted professional license in a state, territory, jurisdiction of the United States.

• Additional Requirements The provider shall demonstrate recent clinical competency in outpatient gastroenterology through credentialing documentation and professional references from a gastroenterologist, GI advanced-practice-provider supervisor, or other physician who directly observed the provider's GI practice. Primary Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): Diagnostic uncertainty after an appropriate initial outpatient evaluation or failure to respond to established treatment pathways. Newly diagnosed, clinically worsening, or treatment-refractory inflammatory bowel disease, including decisions to initiate, discontinue, or significantly modify biologic, immunomodulator, or other advanced therapy. Inflammatory bowel disease is complicated by stricture, fistula, persistent bleeding, malnutrition, medication toxicity, or possible need for surgical evaluation. Advanced chronic liver disease, including impaired hepatic synthetic function, ascites, hepatic encephalopathy, portal-hypertensive complications, or consideration for liver-transplant evaluation. A newly identified or concerning liver lesion, pancreatic lesion, pancreatic cyst with high-risk features, pancreatic or biliary ductal dilation, recurrent pancreatitis, obstructive liver-test pattern, or other unexplained pancreaticobiliary abnormality. Suspected gastrointestinal or hepatobiliary malignancy, high-grade dysplasia, advanced or difficult-to-resect polyps, hereditary gastrointestinal cancer syndromes, or findings requiring oncologic, surgical, or advanced-endoscopic evaluation. Recurrent or occult gastrointestinal bleeding, persistent iron-deficiency anemia despite appropriate evaluation, or suspected small-bowel bleeding after an unrevealing standard evaluation. Complex esophageal disease, including refractory dysphagia, suspected achalasia or another motility disorder, recurrent food impaction, treatment-refractory eosinophilic esophagitis, or possible need for therapeutic endoscopy. Cases requiring advanced endoscopy, including endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP, endoscopic mucosal resection, complex polypectomy, or dilation of a high-risk stricture. Clinical decisions regarding surgical, oncologic, transplant, advanced-endoscopic, motility, or tertiary-subspecialty referral. Complex periprocedural management of anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy in patients at high risk for thrombosis or procedural bleeding. Serious adverse effects or treatment complications associated with biologic therapy, immunomodulators, or other high-risk GI medications. Any condition exceeding the provider's training, demonstrated competency, granted privileges, prescriptive authority, or established clinic protocols.
