This position offers the opportunity to practice independently while improving the quality of life for patients who have limited access to traditional office-based podiatric care. You will work collaboratively with primary care providers, home health agencies, caregivers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive foot and ankle care. Travel is required. Mileage reimbursement is provided. Pay will be discussed. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive evaluations of the foot, ankle, and lower extremities. Diagnose and treat a wide range of podiatric conditions, including: Diabetic foot complications Peripheral neuropathy Foot ulcers Ingrown toenails Fungal nail infections Corns and calluses Plantar fasciitis Heel pain Foot deformities Skin and soft tissue conditions Perform routine and medically necessary foot care, including nail debridement, callus reduction, wound evaluation, and minor in-office procedures within the scope of practice. Develop individualized treatment plans and provide ongoing management of chronic foot conditions. Prescribe medications, orthotics, durable medical equipment, and other appropriate treatments. Determine when imaging, vascular studies, laboratory testing, or specialty referrals are necessary. Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, wound care specialists, home health clinicians, and caregivers to coordinate patient care. Educate patients and families on diabetic foot care, preventive care, proper footwear, and strategies to reduce the risk of falls and lower extremity complications. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic medical documentation. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare regulations, and company policies. Qualifications Required Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited institution. Active California Podiatric Medical License in good standing. Current DEA registration (if prescribing controlled substances). Valid California Driver's License. Reliable transportation with current automobile insurance. Ability and willingness to travel throughout assigned service areas. Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Preferred Experience in mobile podiatry, home health, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, wound care, or geriatric medicine. Experience treating diabetic foot conditions and lower extremity wounds. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Bilingual abilities are a plus.
