Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Podiatry 77 consultants New Orleans, LA Job Details Contract 8 hours ago Benefits Travel reimbursement Qualifications BC/BE Surgery DEA License Medical License Healthcare diagnosis Full Job Description Position Overview A well‑established healthcare organization in New Orleans, LA is seeking an experienced Locum Tenens Podiatrist (MD/DO) to provide high‑quality podiatric care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This assignment offers competitive compensation,, and the chance to practice in one of the most culturally rich and vibrant cities in the country. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and treat conditions of the foot, ankle, and lower extremities. Perform routine podiatric care, wound care, diabetic foot management, and minor procedures. Conduct surgical consultations and perform podiatric surgeries (if required by facility). Manage acute and chronic podiatric conditions and develop individualized treatment plans. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including primary care, orthopedics, vascular surgery, and wound care specialists. Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to facility protocols and regulatory standards. Provide patient education focused on prevention, mobility, and long‑term foot health.
Assignment Details Schedule:
8a-5p, 1-2 days per week
Case Types:
Routine diabetic screenings and debridement, treatment of chronic wounds, minor outpatient nail surgeries, fittings, comprehensive foot exams, etc.
EMR:
Athena Must be board-certified Paid travel & expenses Qualifications MD or DO with board certification or board eligibility in Podiatric Medicine & Surgery Active Louisiana medical license (or ability to obtain) Current DEA registration Experience in wound care or podiatric surgery preferred Strong diagnostic, procedural, and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
