Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled School Psychologist to join our educational team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students, supporting their social-emotional development, behavioral health, and academic success. Your expertise will facilitate the creation of a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment by conducting assessments, developing intervention strategies, and collaborating with educators, families, and other professionals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student well-being and possess extensive experience working with children with diverse needs. Responsibilities Conduct psychological assessments including diagnostic evaluations, behavioral health assessments, social-emotional student assessments, and special education evaluations to determine student needs. Develop and implement individualized intervention plans that incorporate evidence-based practices such as applied behavior analysis and behavior management techniques. Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health support, social skills development, and emotional regulation. Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support student success through case management and coordinated care plans. Assist in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring compliance with special education law and regulations. Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies and safety planning to ensure student safety. Conduct early intervention assessments and provide recommendations for students requiring additional support or specialized services. Maintain accurate medical documentation, records of psychological testing, treatment notes, and progress reports in accordance with confidentiality standards. Facilitate conflict management sessions and develop safety plans tailored to individual student needs. Support staff training on behavioral health topics, trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning strategies. Requirements Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution. Valid state certification/license as a School Psychologist or equivalent credential. Extensive experience working with children in school settings or similar environments. Proficiency in psychological testing methods including behavioral psychological assessments, cognitive assessments, and special education diagnostic testing. Knowledge of special education law (such as IDEA), IEP development processes, and legal requirements for student support services. Strong skills in child & family counseling, crisis intervention, conflict management, and social work principles. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Familiarity with medical terminology related to mental health diagnoses and patient care documentation. Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive support plans. Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, families, educators, and external professionals.
