Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a School Psychologist during a maternity leave coverage. This full-time, on-site position runs from late August through the start of January, offering you the chance to work 35 hours a week in a vibrant school setting near Burlington, CT. You'll engage with a dedicated team, focusing on enhancing student well-being and academic success for a manageable elementary caseload.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid School Psychologist certification (070) required Previous experience or internship in a school setting strongly preferred Proven ability to assess and address social, emotional, and behavioral needs Skilled in completing observations and formal assessments Comfortable conducting therapeutic counseling in both individual and group formats Effective communicator with students, staff, and families Familiarity with PPT (Planning and Placement Team) and 504 meeting protocolsPrimary Responsibilities:
Assess students demonstrating social, emotional, or behavioral concerns through comprehensive observations and evaluations Provide direct therapeutic counseling to individuals and small groups to support emotional development and school adjustment Lead and facilitate all PPT meetings to help guide student learning plans Coordinate and facilitate 504 meetings, ensuring compliance and individualized support Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to design interventions and strategies Document findings and progress accurately in student records This position allows you to make a meaningful difference during a crucial period in a school community.
