Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a school psychologist in a vibrant educational environment. This full-time, in-person, long-term substitute position starts in August and extends through the Christmas break, with the possibility of continuing beyond the initial assignment. Make a difference in the lives of young learners while working closely with educators and families.
Key Qualifications:
Hold current Connecticut certification for school psychologists Expertise in delivering psychological support within an elementary school setting Strong skills in assessment, counseling, and intervention strategies Experience participating in the development of IEPs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams Ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Essential Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations Provide individual and group counseling to support student well-being Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and parents regarding student progress and behavioral interventions Develop and implement strategies to address academic, emotional, and behavioral needs Facilitate social-emotional learning initiatives within the school community Support crisis interventions and recommend appropriate resources Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with school policies
