Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic contract opportunity as a School Psychologist, serving PreK-8th grade students in a supportive educational environment. This role, based near Mystic, CT, runs from August 26th through June 10th and offers a consistent weekday schedule—Monday through Friday, 9AM-3PM, totaling 30 hours each week. You'll play a vital part in promoting student wellness, supporting academic achievement, and fostering positive school climates.

Key Qualifications:

Current certification as a School Psychologist Experience providing psychological services within a school setting, especially with PreK-8th grade Expertise in counseling, conducting assessments, and writing IEPs Strong understanding of MTSS, RTI, and special education processes Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counseling to students, focusing on emotional, behavioral, and academic needs Administer psychological assessments and interpret results to support eligibility and planning for IEPs Participate in the development, writing, and review of IEPs, ensuring legal compliance and individualized student support Consult with staff and families to develop strategies for student success both in and out of the classroom Maintain thorough and accurate records in accordance with district and federal guidelines Contribute to MTSS and RTI initiatives to promote inclusive learning environments This assignment offers the chance to build meaningful relationships with students while honing your expertise in assessment, counseling, and special education best practices, all within a welcoming PreK-8th grade community.
