Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity this summer working in a high school therapeutic program as a School Psychologist. This role is ideally suited for professionals dedicated to supporting students' emotional, behavioral, and academic growth during the Extended School Year (ESY) session. Take part in a collaborative, student-centered environment where your expertise can make a lasting impact over the course of a meaningful month-long assignment.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
Valid School Psychologist certification and relevant licensure Experience in therapeutic or special education settings, especially at the high school level Strong assessment, counseling, and intervention skills Familiarity with IEPs, behavior plans, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Excellent communication and rapport-building abilities with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support to students participating in the high school ESY therapeutic program, from June 1st to June 30th Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' academic, social, and emotional needs Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to develop and monitor individualized plans Deliver crisis intervention when needed and assist with behavioral assessments Participate in meetings to discuss strategies and progress for students Document services and maintain compliance with educational and legal standards
