Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Certified School Psychologist to join our educational team. The primary responsibility of this role is to evaluate and support students' mental health, behavioral needs, and learning development within the school environment. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise in psychological testing, student assessment, and behavioral health to develop tailored interventions that promote academic success and emotional well-being. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere. Duties Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and social-emotional student assessments, to identify student needs. Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention strategies aligned with students' unique requirements. Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health, social skills, and behavioral management for students with diverse needs. Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, speech therapists, social workers, and other specialists to coordinate student support plans. Implement crisis intervention techniques and develop safety plans for students experiencing emotional or behavioral crises. Utilize applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles to support students with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. Maintain accurate medical documentation, records of psychological testing, and progress reports in compliance with legal standards. Offer training and consultation to staff on behavior management strategies, special education law, and social-emotional learning techniques. Conduct early intervention assessments for at-risk students to facilitate timely support services. Manage conflict resolution processes effectively while ensuring a safe educational environment. Experience Proven experience working as a school psychologist or in a related educational psychology role within a school setting. Demonstrated expertise in child & family counseling, crisis management, and behavioral health interventions. Strong background in conducting psychological testing, including behavioral psychological assessments and special education diagnostic testing. Familiarity with special education assessments, IEP development, and applicable laws governing special education services. Experience working with children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder and developmental delays. Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health assessments and patient care documentation. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support student success across diverse populations. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities in educational or clinical settings is highly desirable.
