Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE
: The Clinical Psychologist provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of behavioral and mental health conditions for individuals, couples, and families. This role functions independently within the scope of licensure and contributes to continuity of care through treatment planning, documentation, and coordination with medical and behavioral health providers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and case formulations. Provide outpatient psychotherapy using evidence-based and culturally responsive approaches. Develop, implement, and document individualized treatment and discharge plans. Administer and interpret psychological assessments as clinically appropriate. Collaborate with interdisciplinary providers to coordinate patient care. Refer patients to community resources and specialty services as needed. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with KMC policy, including completion within 48 hours of service Participate in program development, consultation, and quality improvement initiatives. Adhere to professional ethical standards, licensure requirements, and organizational policies.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Behavioral Health.
JOB QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Required:
PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Active Clinical Psychologist license in good standing in the State of Hawai?i, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date. Demonstrated competence in individual, couples, and family therapy. Experience with psychological assessment and diagnostic evaluation. Strong clinical interviewing, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred:
Experience in rural, community-based, or integrated healthcare settings.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICALS REQUIREMENTS
Deliver services in an outpatient behavioral health setting, including in-person and telehealth modalities. Must be able to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods. Manage exposure to emotionally sensitive or high-stress situations.
