POSITION SUMMARY:
To support instruction by serving as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide consultation, intervention, assessment and comprehensive psychological services to students.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Holds bachelor's degree and required Kentucky Department of Education certification for assigned position. 2.Proven ability to work effectively with students. 3. Proven ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct consultation services for students experiencing academic and/or behavioral difficulties by participating in Intervention Assistance Teams or collaborating with school staff in identifying difficulties, developing and implementing appropriate interventions. Provide indirect consultation services for teachers, administrators and parents by supporting staff implementation of policies and procedures, providing school wide consultation and training, and dissemination relevant information. Provide consultation services to parents by providing interpreting information (such as psychiatric diagnoses) and assisting them in the intervention and Special Education process. Conduct appropriate screening assessment measure for academic and attention needs as needed to gather data to use in intervention strategy development. Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and assist school staff in development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans. Follow policies and procedures in regard to psychoeducational assessment for students initially referred and conduct appropriate evaluations (attend referral ARC, collect data from relevant sources, coordinate and conduct appropriate psychoeducational assessments, compile Integrated Assessment Report, communicate results to ARC, and assist in development and implementation of Individual Educational Program.) Facilitate reevaluation process (identify students due for reevaluation, compiling previous assessment and current progress information into Triennial Reevaluation Report Form, participating in ARC meeting to discuss eligibility and reevaluation needs , assessing as needed, compiling assessment report, and attending ARC to communicate results.) Assist school and district staff in regards to Special Education students who have transferred from another school district. Request and review previous school records, determine students' eligibility for services under Kentucky Guidelines. Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board Policy. Assist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student conduct for classroom and school related activities as set forth by the Paducah Public Schools Code of Conduct. Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms. Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students. Establish and maintain cooperative relations with others. Provide for his/her own professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conference, and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning. Perform additional duties/tasks and assume additional responsibilities as needed or assigned and as prescribed in Board policies.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
187-day employee with salary determined by the adopted teacher's salary schedule of the Paducah Public Schools Board of Education.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
