It allows the clinician to work with the community population in many different aspects. We are a small successful agency that allows for clinicians to develop strong professional connections and support. Castillo Psychological is located in Southern New Mexico in the city of Las Cruces. Las Cruces has been recognized as a wonderful area to retire and has an opportunity to further education as it is the location of New Mexico Sate University. Las Cruces is located approximately 40 minutes from Texas border with access to El Paso international airport. The southwest is known for its culture, food and outdoor adventures. Annual wine festivals take place in the fall and Las Cruces has a nationally recognized farmer's market in newly revamped downtown. Downtown offers an opportunity to view live music and theater as well as galleries and public performances in the Plaza de las Cruces. South of Las Cruces is the town of Mesilla with its own historic plaza and entertainment. This office has a forensic contract with the state that provides an opportunity for a clinician to advance their clinical skills. The focus of the forensic evaluations with be providing competency evaluations for the District Courts throughout the State of New Mexico. The forensic evaluation component includes administering various psychological testing as well as clinical writing for the court. The ability to formulate clinical diagnosis and opinions is critical. The forensic evaluation aspect provides a crossover with mental health and the law. This position also consists of providing individual, group, couples and family therapy within the community. The therapy component includes providing therapeutic services for ages 6 and above. The therapist will see a wide range of clientele with various clinical diagnoses. Qualifications Applicants need to have a Master's Degree in social work, counseling or marriage and family therapy. Independent licensure is required. Specific training for the forensic evaluations will be provided as well as ongoing supervision. Weekly group supervision and staffing are also provided. Castillo Psychological is seeking a clinician who has strong skills in therapy, diagnosing and clinical writing.
