As a School Psychologist on a contract basis in Carson City, Nevada, you'll collaborate with a dedicated team of educators, administrators, and families to ensure every child receives the support they need. Ideal candidates have a passion for making a difference and the expertise to assess, consult, and intervene when students need it most. Use your understanding of psychological and educational best practices to foster student growth and promote a positive school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete thorough psychoeducational evaluations, interpreting results to guide interventions Participate actively in eligibility and special education processes according to state and federal standards Develop and implement evidence-based social-emotional and behavioral strategies Offer individual or group counseling sessions tailored to student needs Consult regularly with teachers, staff, and families to address academic and behavioral concerns Assist with Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, implementation, and progress monitoring Support Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) Respond to crisis situations, providing immediate support Maintain timely and confidential documentation Engage in multidisciplinary meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development Contribute to an inclusive, positive school climate

Qualifications:

Masters or specialist-level degree in School Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a closely related field Valid or eligible School Psychologist licensure/certification in Nevada Familiarity with psychoeducational assessment, special education services, and behavioral interventions Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
