Purpose of Role This position requires preparation to teach a course to graduate students related to Ethics and Professional Issues in the field of Health Psychology. The course is a required course for graduate students in a Health Psychology Master's program which prepares them to understand and apply the APA Code of Ethics, as well as relevant New York State and federal laws, in professional roles within physical and mental health care settings. Emphasizing the concept of positive ethics, the course goes beyond teaching minimum legal and ethical requirements, encouraging students to develop moral sensitivity and apply aspirational ethical principles. Through this approach, students will learn to navigate complex professional issues with a commitment to promoting well-being and acting in the best interests of those they serve.
Ethics and Professionalism:
This course is a required course for graduate students in a Health Psychology Master's program which prepares them to understand and apply the APA Code of Ethics, as well as relevant New York State and federal laws, in professional roles within physical and mental health care settings. Required Qualifications A Ph.D. in Health Psychology or a related applied field of psychology (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology) is preferred, but we will consider a Master's degree level applicant with extensive, verifiable professional experience in the field.
