Secure Treatment and Rehabilitation Center is recruiting for a Psychologist Trainee 1 to provide professional psychological services under the supervision of a licensed psychologist to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply. As a Psychologist 1 at Secure Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, your duties will include:
  • Administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological tests.
  • Completing behavioral assessments.
  • Leading and participating in individual, family, and/or group counseling sessions.
Minimum QualificationsCandidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (HELPS) program as a Psychologist Trainee 1 if they have a master's degree in psychology that prepared graduates for positions treating individuals in clinical, forensic, community mental health, or school settings or completion of graduate coursework in a qualifying doctoral level program in psychology that would be the equivalent required for conferral of a master's degree in psychology; OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
