Certified Professional Coder (CPC) - Behavioral Health / Psychology Workbridge LLC Haddonfield, NJ Job Details Full-time $25 - $32 an hour 20 hours ago Qualifications Medicare HIPAA Certified Professional Coder Attention to detail Clinical confidentiality policies Documentation review Full Job Description About Our Practice We are a professional psychology practice seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Professional Coder (CPC) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with behavioral health, psychology, psychiatry, or other mental health services and will be comfortable working independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. This position will work closely with our clinical and administrative staff to ensure that services are coded accurately, claims are submitted appropriately, and billing issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner. Responsibilities Review clinical documentation and assign appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes. Ensure that coding accurately reflects the services provided and is supported by the clinical documentation. Review psychotherapy, psychological evaluation, testing, and other behavioral-health-related services for appropriate coding. Enter and/or review charges prior to claim submission. Submit and monitor insurance claims. Identify and correct rejected or denied claims. Follow up on unpaid or outstanding claims. Assist with insurance eligibility and benefits verification when necessary. Assist with prior authorizations and other insurance requirements when applicable. Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and insurance correspondence. Assist with appeals and corrected claims when appropriate. Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim and billing issues. Maintain accurate and organized billing records. Identify potential coding or documentation issues and communicate them to appropriate staff. Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable privacy requirements. Stay current with changes to CPT, ICD-10, payer requirements, and behavioral-health billing practices. Perform other related coding and billing duties as needed.
Qualifications Required:
Current Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification or comparable recognized coding credential. Previous professional medical coding experience. Strong understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling protected health information.
Preferred:
Experience working with psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, or behavioral-health practices. Experience coding psychotherapy and psychological testing services. Experience with insurance claims, denials, appeals, and corrected claims. Knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and/or workers' compensation billing. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing software. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of the coding and billing process. The ideal candidate should be able to identify potential problems before claims are submitted and communicate effectively with both clinical and administrative staff. Behavioral-health coding experience is strongly preferred.
Pay:
$25.00 - $32.00 per hour
