Position Summary:

We are seeking a reflective, relationally focused clinician to join our team as a Circle of Security® Therapist . This role involves delivering attachment-based, trauma-informed treatment to children, parents, couples, and families—many of whom are navigating complex trauma, disrupted caregiving relationships, and involvement with foster care, DSS, or court systems. This is a part-time position with a potential pathway toward full-time employment. About the

As a regional leader in attachment-focused mental health care and forensic psychological evaluation, the Ainsworth Attachment Clinic is known throughout Virginia for its expertise in developmental trauma, caregiving systems, and high-risk family dynamics. Our clinicians provide evaluations, therapeutic interventions, and expert consultation grounded in attachment science, family systems, and trauma-responsive practice. The clinic is committed to professional excellence, collaborative care, and developmental attunement.

Core Responsibilities:

Provide therapy using the Circle of Security® Parenting and/or Family Protocol frameworks Deliver attachment-based care to families experiencing trauma, loss, or relational disruption Complete clinical assessments, treatment planning, and timely documentation Participate actively in case consultations and coordinated care with DSS, GALs, and court professionals Work closely with other clinicians on shared client cases, contributing to integrated, team-based treatment Participate in weekly, intensive clinical supervision to support growth, fidelity to model, and reflective practice

Required Qualifications:

Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field Licensed or license-eligible in Virginia (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist) Strong foundational understanding of attachment theory and trauma Excellent collaboration, documentation, and communication skills Commitment to culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate care Preferred Qualifications (Not Required): Prior training in Circle of Security® Parenting or Family Protocol Experience with court-involved, foster care, or DSS-referred families Training in trauma-focused models such as

EMDR, TF-CBT, Theraplay Compensation and Support:
