General information Job Posting Title Clinical Psychologist Date Friday, August 14, 2026 City Jacksonville State NC Country United States Working time Full-time Description & Requirements The Clinical Psychologist provides comprehensive psychological services to enhance the mission readiness, longevity, and performance of Special Operations Forces (SOF). This role supports resilience, helps prevent and treat behavioral health concerns, contributes to selection and assessment activities, delivers performance enhancement training, and supports the psychological health of service members and their families to optimize readiness and resilience. Candidates residing in or near the following locations are strongly preferred: Camp Lejeune, NC; Coronado, CA; Fort Benning, GA; Fort Bragg, NC; Fort Campbell, KY; Fort Carson, CO; Hurlburt Field, FL; Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA This position is pending upon contract award. U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must possess an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required for contract performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert psychological consultation and guidance to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of psychology-based programs, services, and initiatives.
  • Develop and enhance assessment methodologies, tools, and processes to support organizational and workforce objectives.
  • Conduct and interpret individual, team, and/or organizational assessments and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, evaluate outcomes, and inform decision-making.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in psychology, behavioral science, and human performance.
  • Lead complex client engagements and influence strategic decisions through evidence-based recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to address complex challenges and achieve project objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and thought leadership to colleagues and clients.
  • Practice within the guidelines of the applicable state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and Military Treatment Facility (MTF) privileges.
  • Conduct psychological evaluations using information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.
  • Establish psychiatric diagnoses in accordance with the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
  • Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups, support medical and surgical clients coping with illnesses or injuries, and assist in client rehabilitation.
  • Produce reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required. Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 10+ years of relevant professional experience required; Master's degree in Psychology and 8+ years of related experience or PhD and 6+ years of related experience required.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from an American Psychological Association-accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology. Minimum of two (2) years of peer-reviewable clinical practice in a mental health setting.
  • Successful completion of an internship/residency in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association. Preferred Requirement Experience working in a government setting, such as the Department of War (DoW) or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Military Treatment Facility (MTF). Interviewing, Credentialing, and Privileging Requirements
  • May be required to attend a face-to-face interview.
  • This position is a credentialed position.
As a credentialed, licensed provider, the primary role is direct care for the purpose of mitigation, treatment, management, and preservation of the cognitive, physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being of service members and their families. This includes documentation of services in HP Enterprise-wide platforms, including HPDMS and Electronic Health Record systems, as directed by USSOCOM Directive 10-12.
  • Adjustments to productivity levels for this labor category may vary based on client population, local mission set, or additional administrative taskings.
  • Additional duties assigned through local leadership must be documented and approved through local POTFF leadership.
