Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic K-8 School Psychologist to join our educational team, committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students across elementary and middle school grades, supporting their social-emotional well-being, academic success, and behavioral development. Your expertise will help identify student needs, develop tailored intervention strategies, and collaborate with educators and families to promote positive outcomes for all learners. Responsibilities Conduct psychological assessments including diagnostic evaluations, behavioral health assessments, social-emotional student assessments, and special education assessments to determine student needs. Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on social-emotional development, mental health support, and behavioral management for students with diverse needs. Develop and implement behavior management plans and safety plans tailored to students with disabilities or behavioral challenges. Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, administrators, and other professionals to create effective support strategies and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Offer crisis intervention services and crisis management to ensure student safety and well-being during emergencies or emotional distress. Utilize applied behavior analysis techniques and other evidence-based practices to support students with autism or developmental disabilities. Maintain accurate medical documentation, psychological testing results, case management records, and ensure compliance with special education law and policies. Requirements Valid state of Montana certification or licensure as a School Psychologist or equivalent credential. Experience working with children, including familiarity with early intervention strategies. Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and diagnostic testing procedures. Ability to provide child & family counseling, crisis intervention, behavior management for students with special needs, and mental health assessments. Knowledge working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is highly preferred. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments, psychological testing, and social-emotional evaluations accurately. Excellent collaboration skills for working effectively with educators, families, social workers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists.
