JOB OVERVIEW- We're looking to add a licensed neuropsychologist to our growing team, with a particular need for someone experienced in assessing children and adolescents and in conducting autism spectrum evaluations.

Northern Virginia Psychiatric Group (NOVAPSY) is a multi-disciplinary group practice offering a broad range of psychiatric, psychotherapy related treatments for adult, adolescent, and geriatric age groups since 1978. We are in Fairfax Virginia. Our practice is currently seeking a full-time Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Clinical Psychologist to join outpatient practice in Northern Virginia. Our office provides a warm, friendly, and inviting environment for clinicians and our patients with administrative support for the prospective clinician.

QUALIFICATIONS

Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.

D.) in Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, or a closely related field, with specialized training in neuropsychology Current, active, unrestricted license to practice psychology in Virginia strongly preferred; will consider candidates nearing license completion Substantial, hands-on experience assessing children and adolescents is a priority for this role Experience conducting autism spectrum evaluations — this is a particular area of need for our practice Ability to also assess adults a plus, though pediatric/adolescent expertise is the primary focus Strong working knowledge of commonly used cognitive, achievement, and behavioral assessment batteries, including autism-specific measures (e.g., ADOS-2) Excellent report-writing and communication skills Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively within a small practice team A warm, patient-centered approach — our clients are often anxious about the evaluation process, and a steady, reassuring presence matters

JOB DESCRIPTION

Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations, with a primary focus on children and adolescents (adult evaluations also welcome) Conduct autism spectrum evaluations as a core part of the caseload, along with ADHD, learning disabilities, and other neurodevelopmental, cognitive, and emotional concerns Administer, score, and interpret standardized cognitive, academic, and behavioral measures (in-office) Write clear, well-organized evaluation reports with actionable recommendations (may be done remotely) Provide feedback sessions to families — typically conducted virtually, with in-person sessions available upon patient request — and, where appropriate, consult with schools, physicians, and other providers Collaborate with our team of neuropsychologists and support staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care Be open to conducting routine psychological assessments in addition to neuropsychological assessments Be open to pursuing routine psychotherapy sessions while the neuropsychology aspect of the practice develops
