Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role where you'll have the opportunity to truly make an impact in the lives of K-8 students. This contract position begins as soon as possible and runs through the full school year, offering a consistent schedule of 5 days a week at 40 hours per week. As a valued psychological support professional, you will manage a full caseload serving approximately 670 students in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, emotional, and social functioning. Provide both individual and group counseling to address students' mental health and behavioral needs. Team up with educators, parents, and administrators to support students facing academic or behavioral challenges. Design and implement evidence-based interventions for emotional and behavioral growth. Participate in IEP meetings, lending your expertise to the development and evaluation of student goals. Deliver crisis intervention and on-the-spot support to students in emotional distress. Educate faculty and families about mental health resources and strategies. Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes with strict attention to confidentiality. Engage in additional responsibilities as directed by school leadership.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology. Valid South Carolina School Psychologist certification. Proven experience performing assessments and delivering counseling in K-8 school settings. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated understanding of child and adolescent mental health challenges. Candidates with direct K-8 experience will be especially well-regarded.
