Job Description
Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting student growth and well-being in a K-8 educational environment. This contract opportunity for a dedicated school psychologist offers the chance to make a tangible impact for a diverse population of students. Work closely with school faculty, families, and administration to address and empower the social, emotional, and academic success of approximately 670 K-8 students. This full-time position spans the entire school year, with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and social development. Provide individual and group counseling to support students facing mental health challenges. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to address a range of behavioral and academic concerns. Develop, implement, and monitor interventions for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the formation of student goals. Offer crisis intervention and emotional support for students during critical times. Educate school staff and families about mental health resources and best practices. Maintain thorough, confidential documentation for student services and interventions. Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology. Active South Carolina School Psychologist certification. Previous experience providing counseling and conducting psychological evaluations in school settings. Strong knowledge of issues affecting children and adolescents' mental health. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Experience working with K-8 populations is highly valued and will help set you apart.
