Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Looking for a meaningful opportunity where your expertise in school psychology can make a difference in the lives of students? An immediate need exists for a skilled professional to serve K-8 populations in a contract role for the full academic year. This position entails working with a caseload of approximately 670 students, providing crucial support through comprehensive assessments, counseling, and collaborative interventions every week.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough psychological assessments to gauge students' cognitive, emotional, and social functioning. Deliver individual and group counseling to students facing various mental health challenges. Work closely with educators, parents, and administrators to address behavioral and academic concerns. Create and implement targeted interventions to support students with behavioral and emotional needs. Play an active part in IEP meetings, contributing to the formulation and achievement of student-centered goals. Offer crisis intervention and immediate support for students in distress. Guide school staff and families in understanding mental health issues and available resources. Maintain precise, confidential records of student services and interventions. Adapt to additional responsibilities as assigned by the administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology. Valid South Carolina School Psychologist certification. Prior experience delivering psychological services and counseling in K-8 educational settings is highly valued. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Thorough understanding of mental health challenges impacting children and adolescents.
