Job Description

School Psychologist (Full-Time) - Stafford, VA| 2026-2027 School Year Position Overview Stafford County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and collaborative School Psychologist for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, onsite position will support two school sites and focus primarily on psychological assessments, consultation services, behavioral support, and multidisciplinary collaboration to help students achieve academic, social, and emotional success. Key Responsibilities Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments for students across assigned campuses Provide consultation to educators, administrators, and families regarding student needs and interventions Support Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP) Assist with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) initiatives as needed Participate in eligibility meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and special education processes Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement effective student support strategies Occasionally provide support to social workers with counseling services when needed Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district, state, and federal regulations Position Details Full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week)
Hours:
8:00 AM - 3:30 PM Assignment across two school locations Primarily assessment and consultation-focused role Educational Diagnosticians are assigned to each building, so academic achievement testing is not required Qualifications/Required Credentials Active Virginia Department of Education (VA DOE) School Psychologist Certification Active Virginia School Psychologist Licensure Preferred Qualifications Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and assessments Knowledge of FBA/BIP development and implementation Familiarity with MTSS frameworks and intervention planning Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams Why Join the Team?
