Job Description
Help Army Reserve Soldiers think clearly, adapt quickly, and perform under pressure. Testudo Logistics is seeking a Cognitive Performance Specialist to build practical mental-readiness skills that Soldiers can apply in training, on mission, and throughout civilian life. This is a performance education and coaching role; it does not provide clinical mental-health diagnosis or treatment. You will be based at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin and serve on a four-person interdisciplinary team supporting the 88th Readiness Division. The team works with command leaders and unit H2F Integration Teams to extend high-quality support to geographically dispersed Army Reserve units. The anticipated salary range for this position is $72,000 - $105,000 per year. Actual pay will be based on location, education, relevant experience, professional credentials, and other job-related factors. What you'll do Design and deliver a comprehensive mental-readiness program grounded in performance psychology and Army H2F principles. Teach evidence-based skills including attention control, goal setting, energy management, deliberate breathing, mindfulness, visualization, stress inoculation, and effective self-talk. Create practical tip sheets, guided exercises, leader discussion guides, and other resources Soldiers can use between training events. Integrate cognitive skills into relevant military training environments such as marksmanship, field exercises, and leadership reaction activities. Provide individual and group coaching while partnering with strength and conditioning, nutrition, and athletic training professionals. Coach and mentor unit H2F Integration Teams, maintain current training resources, collect program data, and support required reports and knowledge transfer. What you'll bring Doctoral degree in psychology, or a master's degree in kinesiology or a related field with a specialized focus in sport or performance psychology, from an accredited university. At least three years of relevant post-graduate experience within the last four years providing mental-skills training or cognitive-performance enhancement to athletes, military personnel, or other high-performing groups. Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credential from the Association for Applied Sport Psychology is preferred. Any current, valid, unrestricted professional license required for the candidate's credential and duty location. Demonstrated ability to facilitate engaging classroom and field-based learning, coach diverse adult populations, and collaborate across disciplines. Eligibility and access U.S. citizenship is required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Confidential personnel security clearance and satisfy applicable background investigation, suitability, installation-access, CAC, and system-access requirements. Schedule and travel This is a full-time, primarily in-person position based at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. The schedule follows Army Reserve training calendars and may include evenings, weekends, Battle Assemblies, and Annual Training. Regular travel within the continental United States to supported unit locations is expected.
