- Administer prescribed radiation treatments to patients, primarily for cancer therapy, using linear accelerators and related equipment.
- Accurately position patients and immobilization devices to ensure precise targeting of tumors.
- Operate radiation therapy equipment while adhering to treatment plans and safety protocols.
- Verify treatment parameters, dosage, and patient identity prior to each session.
- Monitor patients during treatment for physical reactions and emotional distress.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families throughout the treatment process.
- Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and nursing staff.
- Maintain detailed and accurate treatment records and documentation.
- Perform quality assurance checks and report equipment or safety issues promptly.
